• Backend Engineer at Monzo
  • Backend Engineer in Monzo’s Core Borrowing Growth team, later rebranded as Catalyst, helping deliver lending growth from GBP 104.6m in FY2021 to GBP 258.8m in FY2022.
  • Led backend implementation work alongside frontend engineers, product managers, marketing managers, data scientists, UX designers, operations, legal, and compliance.
  • Built loan aggregation integrations that surfaced Monzo loan quotations on comparison platforms including ClearScore.
  • Improved take-up rates by identifying customer frictions through experiments and A/B tests.
  • Supported onboarding and mentoring for new engineers, from experienced hires learning Monzo’s in-house frameworks and tools to engineers at the start of their careers.
  • Delivered backend work in a regulated financial services environment where technical quality and operational correctness were critical.
